Below are pieces that served to underscore movement sequences, soliloquies, and elevated, poetic moments of the play. You’ll notice breaks of silence throughout the montages. These gaps were blackouts.
Something neat: If you listen to Montage 3 with headphones or a subwoofer, you can hear low-range elements that include vibrations caused by wind moving over the solar panels on Mars, courtesy of NASA.
Design for Red Rover also included many sound effects that gave life to a computer, airlock door, and other space station features. A large part of the design also included vocal recordings of communications, and mysterious whistles, aka. “The Call”. All available upon request.
